The city of Toledo will pay $1.5 million for beds at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, under the condition that if their lawsuit prevails, they’ll get that money back. Toledo filed suit in December to determine who should pay for more inmates. Toledo says the city should not have to pay for inmates coming the suburbs. The lawsuit says that Lucas County should cover the costs of state inmates, regardless of where they were arrested or sentenced.
