The story everyone is talking about this weekend, the killing of a 400 lb gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo after a four year old boy crawled into the enclosure and fell into the moat. While criticism of not only the zoo but the boy’s parents has been widespread, the Toledo Zoo Executive Director said yesterday the decision to kill the gorilla was a judgment call by the Cinci Zoo and he couldn’t say for sure how he would have reacted. He called the incident “horrific” and a zookeepers nightmare.
