Bryan Municipal Utilities will spend about $943,000 dollars over the next 10 years to make sure the city’s two water towers are up to standards. The Board of Public Affairs approved the agreement, with Utility Service Company Inc., based in Perry, Georgia, during its regular meeting on Tuesday. Officials say the two towers…the “Fountain City Tower,”, on East Perry Street, just west of Union Street…and the “Bryan Tower,” on West Mulberry Street, near Spangler Candy…were last coated in 2005 and 2004. BMU had both towers inspected last year. Officials say…with proper maintenance, both could continue to serve the city for decades to come.
