Truck Incident Under Investigation

Defiance Police is investigating the theft and subsequent crash of a CSX work truck. Officials say the vehicle was parked on the railroad tracks at the crossing on Squires Avenue…left unattended on the tracks east of the crossing. Minutes later, a CSX train approached from the west and struck the truck. No injuries reported. An investigation revealed the truck was stolen from the CSX offices on Jackson Avenue in Defiance. An investigation is underway at this hour.
