Unemployment rates drop for August.

Unemployment rates dropped in every Defiance area county in August, according to figures from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). The lowest area county remained Putnam at 3.3% followed by Fulton and Paulding counties at 4%. The number of people classified as “unemployed” in August by county, with the labor force total in parentheses, were: Defiance, 800 (18,000); Fulton, 900 (22,200); Henry, 600 (13,100); Paulding, 400 (9,000); Putnam, 600 (19,500); and Williams, 700 (18,100).
