Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-9), a senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee along with officials from The University of Toledo Health Science Campus are announcing today a ‘significant’ multi-million dollar research funding award from a branch of the National Institute of Health. The NIH funding award will support ongoing research by The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences that aims to improve the lives of an estimated eight million adults currently suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. Advancements in this field could lead to new treatments for the seven to eight percent of the American public who will suffer from the condition in their lifetimes.
