V. Imogene Thomas, age 89, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, April 27, 2020, at Kingston Residence in Sylvania, Ohio, where she was a resident. Mrs. Thomas was a 1948 graduate of Edon High School and received her degree as a registered nurse from Flower Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio. She was an active member of Edon United Methodist Church and Eastern Star and was a longtime Emergency Medical Technician with the Edon EMS squad. Imogene enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and antiquing. Most of all her family was #1 to her.
V. Imogene Thomas was born on May 24, 1930, in Garrett, Indiana, the daughter of George J. and Ruth B. (Mark) Kuttler. She married Bruce L. Thomas on April 16, 1950, in Edon, and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2014.
Survivors include two sons, Michael L.(Jonalea) Thomas, of Lambertville, Michigan, and David Bruce (Kathy) Thomas, of Carmel, Indiana; three daughters, Patricia (Jeff) Schmees, of Fairfield, Ohio, Deborah G. (James P.) Hay, of Lowell, Michigan, and Ginny (Tom) Peterson, of Temperance, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, services and interment will be private with Pastor Eric Burkhardt officiating. Interment will take place in Edon Cemetery. A celebration of Imogene’s life will be held at a later date.
