Vacant gas station to be assessed for clean up

The former Certifiied gas station property at South Main and East Maple streets is closer to being cleaned up. Yesterday, the Williams County Commissioners ok’d a California company to provide an assessment to determine if the property has an environmental contamination. The gas station tanks buried beneath the site have been unused for 10 years. If there is contamination, then the contamination will be further investigated. If not, clean up would follow.
