The Village of Edon is well on its way to obtaining most of the funding it needs to build a new $1 million water treatment plant. The Bryan Times reports no objections were heard in county commissioners’ chambers Thursday during a mandatory second public hearing on a $483,080 Community Development Block Grant to help offset half the current estimated $966,160 cost of the new plant. The village and Maumee Valley Planning Organization will now work on obtaining a permit to install and once that’s received the grant application can move forward, according to Dennis Miller of the MVPO, which will administer the grant and serve as a conduit for the funding.
