The village of Pioneer submitted a request for an extension of the right-of-way permit to the Williams County commissioners on Tuesday so the board may confer with legal counsel. The Pioneer village solicitor requested that the commissioners extend a county-issued permit for a water line and a sewer line utility by one year. After a lengthy legal battle, the county first refused to provide the permit, claiming it was not a true public service. However, the permit was finally issued in October of last year. The line was initially intended to supply an aquaculture farm for a company that intended to relocate to Pioneer.
