The Wauseon Police Department has been awarded a valuable new piece of equipment.

At a district grant meeting held in Bowling Green on Friday, the Ohio Traffic Safety Office presented the department with a new Laser Technology TruSpeed 100 laser speed gun. The Wauseon Police Department plans to put it into service in three weeks, beginning on Monday, May 20.

The department was awarded the $2,000 piece of equipment in recognition of its participation in two major enforcement programs: “Click It or Ticket,” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
