The Williams County Board of Health passes a resolution that backs a push for a rate increase for Medicaid dental providers in the state budget. The Ohio Department of Medicaid’s budget proposal seeks to increase the dental budget by 15%, which would be a $59.2 million dollars. Last year, 40% of Ohio children on Medicaid, ages 3 to 17, had a dental appointment, according to the Ohio Department of Medicaid. Nationally, 74% of children in that range had one. Ohio ranks 42nd among states in child dental Medicaid reimbursement rates at 44.6% while the national average is 61.4%, according to Oral Health Ohio.
