WEATHER ADVISORY ISSUED

The win­ter blast is intense, and it shows no signs of let­ting up any­time soon.

From the National Weather Ser­vice of north­ern Indi­ana early this morn­ing, just after 3:30, we received this update..

– A Win­ter Weather Advi­sory in effect from 10 a.m. today until 4 p.m. Saturday.

– A Wind Chill Advi­sory remains in effect until 1 p.m. today.

An arc­tic air­mass mov­ing across the Mid­west com­bined with brisk winds will result in wind chills of 15 below to 25 below in our area this morn­ing. A strong cold front will dive south from Canada today and move across our area late tonight and early Sat­ur­day. Strong south­west winds will develop today in advance of this front… caus­ing areas of blow­ing and drift­ing snow. Snow will over­spread the area from the north­west tonight. Snow will end over most of the area Sat­ur­day morn­ing… how­ever lake effect snow is expected to con­tinue Sat­ur­day after­noon over north­ern por­tions of the area. Total accu­mu­la­tions of new snow by Sat­ur­day night are expected to be 2 to 4 inches… with amounts a lit­tle higher over south­west Michigan.
