Weekend Crash Proves Fatal

The winter weather has left one person dead following a crash in our area.

Blowing and drifting snow Saturday morning resulted in a chain-reaction crash on Ohio 576, between County Road H and County Road I. Then, about an hour later, just before 11:30 Saturday morning, a crash on the Ohio Turnpike happened in which one person was killed.

67 year old Santoxh Misra of Stow, Ohio was driving a car east on the turnpike when that vehicle collided with a commercial truck that was stopped because of another crash, and then hit again by another commercial vehicle.

A passenger in the Misra vehicle, 56 year old Margaret Misra, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Santosh Misra was taken to St. Vincent’s Mercy Center by ambulance. Police say seatbelts were in use, alcohol was not a factor. They say the road conditions at the time are most likely the cause of that fatal crash, which remains under investigation.
