West Unity Fires Fiscal Officer

The West Unity Vil­lage Coun­cil met on Mon­day, and unan­i­mously voted to remove fis­cal offi­cer Rebecca Thatcher with­out cause.

Thatcher began full time on Oct. 21 under pro­ba­tion­ary provisions,a fter pre­vi­ously work­ing as a clerk for the Ohio Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion for 13 years.

The Bryan Times reports that fol­low­ing a 20 minute-executive ses­sion, the board emerged to hire cur­rent deputy clerk Kim Grime as the new fis­cal offi­cer at a pro­ba­tion­ary rate of $33,000 per year, effec­tive March 27.
