West Unity will receive grant for a waterline replacement project

For A Better Pipe

West Unity will receive a $550,000 dollar grant for a waterline replacement project. It is one of many distributed throughout the state from Ohio BUILDS…an infrastructure program that aims to uplift and improve small communities. The village is set to use the funding to finish replacing a waterline at Jackson Street that runs from Jefferson Street to Madison, a project that is almost complete. The work was a necessity due to aging and potential breakage of the current iron pipe. To fix the issue, the waterline is in the process of being replaced with plastic line and is expected to be completed this summer.
