West Unity WWII Japanese POW Memorial Dedication

A West Unity soldier from World War II who suffered for over a year in a Japanese POW camp will be honored for his sacrifice. Leroy W Wyse Jr. was captured in 1941 and was starved, beaten, worked and nearly died. He was sent home after the Japanese surrender and died just two years later from health problems from his imprisonment and harsh treatment. The dedication will be August 21st at the Floral Grove Cemetery on County Rd. K, led by the American Legion Riders. The POW Memorial Dedication begins at 2:30 p.m.
