What you can save sales tax on this Friday for Back-to-School

Ohio’s Back to school sales tax holiday is this weekend. From Friday through Sunday, shoppers can buy school supplies and clothing and not pay sales tax, under certain conditions. You don’t have to be in school to take advantage of the tax break. Plus, shoppers from other states are allowed to enjoy the tax savings. The tax break is for any clothing under $75, school supplies priced at $20 per item or less and school instructional materials priced at $20 per item or less. The tax holiday is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Items included in sales tax holiday:
Binders, blackboard chalk, book bags, calculators, compasses, composition books, crayons, erasers, folders, glue, highlighters, index cards, legal pads, loose leaf ruled notebook paper, lunch boxes, markers, notebooks, paper including copy paper, graph, tracing, manila, colored and construction paper, poster board, pencil boxes, pencils, pens, protractors, rulers, scissors, sharpeners, tape and writing tablets.
