The Williams County commissioners Tuesday agreed to abolish the county’s microfilm board, following a recommendation made by the board itself. The Microfilm Board was created because the Record Center scanned and created microfilm for some of the local school districts, the resolution stated. Having microfilm created is becoming increasingly more difficult therefore the Records Center is no longer offering that service to outside entities. The Microfilm Board believes the county no longer needs to have a separate board from the Data Board and that dissolving the board will create less confusion for county offices.
