Williams County Fair Board considering shortening length of fair

No concrete proposals have been offered yet, but at Thursday’s regular meeting of the Williams County Fair Board, members appear to be interested in shortening the fair in the future. The change could come as early as 2019. Board President Dave Page said fair goers and vendors alike have expressed support to the board for shortening the eight-day fair by a day or two. Board Vice President Al Bennett and other board members said they need time to work with board partners, including the schools, 4-H clubs, vendors and law enforcement to make it work. They said it will take at least until the 2019 fair to do so. Board members said they would further discuss the issue at the board’s May meeting. This year’s fair is Sept. 9-16.
