3 Liberty City Residents Hurt in Two Accidents

A Liberty Center man working at a construction site on the I-475 Bridge over the Maumee River was injured when struck by a hit and run driver. It happened southbound near mile marker 4. 40 year-old Joshua Benson was wearing a reflective vest that should have made him visible in the active construction zone. The driver of the Chevy Blazer that struck him did not stop and the car was later found in Swanton and the driver identified as 36 year-old Jamie Luce. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Two other Liberty Center residents were also hurt in a two car crash in Henry County. A Las Vegas man failed to stop at the intersection of Henry County Road V and 4A and drove into the path of a car driven by 68 year-old Bonnie Plassman. Plassman and passenger 80 year-old Victory Passman were taken to a hospital. The other driver wasn’t hurt. Happened Sunday afternoon.
