Williams County Sheriff’s Office is looking for grant money to help replace two police vehicles used by the county’s K-9 units. Sheriff Steve Towns told the County Commission that his office received indications that while his application was denied it may be reconsidered if it’s resubmitted.
The two new police interceptors recently purchased will get their county decals, gun racks and other cruiser equipment after the commission approved about $7,200 to pay for them.
The commission also approved the new in-car camera system for Sheriff’s Office vehicles. The 9 units will run about $14,500 and have a lifetime warranty, plus are wi-fi capable.
