Defiance woman charged with tax evasion

A Defiance woman has been charged with failing to report nearly $800,000 in income to the Internal Revenue Service. 65-year-old Sandra Vonderembse is accused of not reporting her taxable income for 2009 through 2011. The IRS says during that time, her income was approximately $793,204. They estimate her taxes would be about $136,000. Tax evasion is punishable by a sentence of of up to five years in prison.
