Michigan man enters pleas in two misdemeanor cases

A Michigan man accused of igniting a fireball at a party that severely burned a fellow University of Toledo student entered no contest pleas yesterday to two misdemeanors in the case. 21 year old Christopher Housel of Highland, Mich. pleaded no contest to criminal damaging and underage consumption of alcohol. The victim was not present but prosecutors said she agreed to the deal. Housel, who was indicted on first-degree felony of aggravated arson, now faces up to one year in jail when he is sentenced Sept. 21. Aggravated arson carries a maximum term of 11 years in prison.
