Indiana man was hospitalized following a car/semi crash on Tuesday

An Indiana man was hospitalized following a car/semi crash on Tuesday near Ridgeville Corners. 56 year old Thomas Pitzen of Fort Wayne, was taken by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, where his condition was unknown. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 1:52 p.m. on U.S. 6 in Ridgeville Township, Pitzen was eastbound when he reportedly suffered a medical issue, causing him to lose consciousness. His car went left of center and sideswiped the trailer of an oncoming semi driven by 62 year old Leonard Toms of Marion, N.C. Pitzen’s vehicle came to rest in the ditch.
