Discussions underway for a designated bike trail in the county

Officials with the Maumee Valley Planning Organization met with the Williams County Commissioners Monday to review and discuss a special Ohio Department of Transportation proposed project, which involves a designated bike trail in the county. The project’s purpose is to designate a network of State and US Bicycle Routes throughout Ohio. This is in response to a national initiative to establish bike routes throughout the United States so that one day a person can bike all the way from Washington DC to California. The route being proposed in the Williams County area is called State Bicycle Route 90, which goes through Fulton and Williams County and through what is known as the Wabash Cannonball trail, where it exists. Where the Wabash Cannonball Trail ends, the plan goes onto some County, Townships and Village roads in the area.
