Madison Township landowners affected by a ditch petition request by Ronald Huffman agreed Monday to delay a public hearing on the request by 60 days. The delay could give Huffman, Norm Thorp and Ed Sutton time to determine exactly where existing tile is and what work the property owners could do on their own to take care of the problem cheaper and more effectively than the county’s $78,575 price tag. The delay also may give the ground time to dry enough to get equipment on site to help determine location of existing tile, which drains the watershed roughly bounded by the Menards distribution center, the Village of Kunkle and County Road O.
