$$ COMING TO BRYAN SCHOOLS

The Ohio School Facilities Commission on Thursday approved over $18.8 million in state funding for school construction work in the Bryan City School District.

The district is one of 19 from across the state that received an offer of funding from the Commission, which oversees the state’s school facility renovation and construction program.

The funding, combined with $35 million from the district, will allow the district to move forward with the renovation of the current Bryan Middle School for children in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5 and the construction of a new middle — high school combination building for grades 6 through 12.

The Board of Education will place a bond issue on the November, 2013 ballot, the first opportunity for the community to approve the local share.

School districts must raise their local share of the project budget within 13 months before the state funding can be released.
