Commissioners approve funding for a pair of Williams County road projects

A pair of Williams County road projects — including repaving County Road D between County Road 7 and Ohio 576 — received the go-ahead by county commissioners Monday. The Bryan Times reports commissioners approved a resolution to repave the pot-holed four-mile stretch of County Road D at an estimated cost of $1.304 million. County engineer Todd Roth was able to secure 80 percent grant funding — $1,043,200 — with the balance, $260,800, from county funds. Initially slated for the state’s 2020 fiscal year budget, with the funds available in 2019, Roth was able to get the project moved up to be completed later this year. In addition, Gerken Paving of Napoleon won the bid to repave three county roads near the Ohio Turnpike Plaza in West Unity and replace a bridge north of the Turnpike.
