Nuisance Board Eyes First Job

Remember Defiance’s new nuisance code, approved earlier this year by city council? The board put in charge of backing it up got to work this week. The nuisance abatement board is looking for a solution for a dilapidated building at 620 Blaine St. The city had planned to purchase and demolish the structure. Then, a lien issue arose and the building still stands. Nonetheless, city officials still want the eyesore hauled away. Right now, it appears some funds will be needed to deal with the lien question. The board says they are looking into that.
