Shooting A Mistake In Garrett

An 18-year-old Garrett man is hospitalized after being shot in the arm and abdomen in what police believe was an accident. Officers were dispatched to a home on South Lee Street, where they found the victim. He was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital in stable condition. Police determined the shooting could have been avoided if the 9mm handgun had been handled safely. They have not released the name of the victim.
