State officials rule a fatal fire last year at a Napoleon auto salvage yard was accidental. Jeffrey Keehn was using a blow torch to cut parts off of a vehicle when the explosion occurred. Investigators say, gasoline was leaking from the pickup truck and the vapors were set off by the torch. They added Keehn survived the explosion, crawling out from under the burning vehicle but he only made it ten feet before succumbing to the flames. A coroner’s report shows Keehn died from burns, as well as smoke and soot inhalation.
