The man accused of shooting DeKalb County Deputy, Todd McCormick after a traffic stop in Garrett in April is released from an area hospital and is now in police custody. Deputy McCormick stopped Joshua Mumma for equipment violations back on April 10th. A search netted a suspected drug find. Mumma was asked to exit the vehicle…he refused. When McCormick opened the door to get Mumma out the car, a fight ensued. It is alleged Mumma pulled out a handgun and pointed it at McCormick, who then drew his sidearm. Multiple shots were fired from Mumma’s handgun before the fight continued outside the car. He faces attempted murder charges.
