A Fort Wayne woman, blamed for a boating accident that hurt several people at Lake Gage in July 2017, pleads guilty to criminal recklessness. Dominique Effinger’s agreement calls for a 1 ½-year executed sentence. A Steuben County judge is set to sentence Effinger on Aug. 3. Effinger was driving a 21-foot motorboat when it went out of control. Ten people, all of whom had been drinking, were thrown from the boat. Two women were hurt badly, one with skull fractures and broken bones and the other with an arm injury.
