Van Wert Child Death Update

Investigators in Van Wert say they are awaiting medical examination reports which will provide critical information in their efforts to understand the circumstances surrounding the death of an infant back on June 28. Van Wert County Deputy Coroner, Dr. Norman Means says the preliminary investigation doesn’t show any signs of foul play. Police got a 911 call regarding an infant that had stopped breathing. The dispatcher gave the caller CPR instructions while police responded to the 800 block of Leeson Avenue. The infant was taken to a Van Wert hospital where the child was declared dead. Officials say it will take a few weeks for the medical examination results to come in.
