Promising numbers on Ohio’s highways. Officials say this Labor Day was safer than the last one. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports 13 fewer people died on the state’s roadways than in 2017. The state says the 11 deaths in 11 accidents happened between midnight Friday and Monday. Alcohol was a contributing factor in at least two of last weekend’s fatalities. Four others involved motorcyclists not wearing helmets and one driver not wearing a seat belt. Local totals include 275 enforcement stops in Williams County…433 in Fulton…Defiance County had 361…Henry County reports 162. State officials say they are pleased with the improved safety numbers.
