A View From The Other Side Of The Aquifer Debate

Tens of thousands of Toledo’s water customers are threatening to get their water from somewhere else, this to avoid getting stuck paying much higher rates. Several communities on that system are looking into tapping into the aquifer in Pioneer as a water source. With the number of suburbs on board right now, officials say they would use between 12 and 14 million gallons a day, collectively. Officials are saying the aquifer is the cheaper option…they like that. Just a view of the story from proposed destination of the water in discussion.
