Officials Fear Bath Salts Are Back

Bath salts is a term used for a drug, similar to methamphetamine. And now, area officials suspect…it might be back. Police went to a West Bryan Street home for a disturbance. There, they find a woman, beaten up. They also locate nearby soon after, the man she accused of the beating. Officers say Jacob Ames was high…drifting in and out of consciousness during the investigation. He was taken to the hospital in Bryan and is in satisfactory condition at this hour. Police think he was on bath salts, the drug once banned in the area just a few years ago. Testing is underway at this hour.
