A Nod To The Past

Brick and ivy. Ornate design. A theatre…a soda fountain. Sauder Village officials have a vision. Turn back the clock and make the place look like it did in, say 1923. Well, now Sauder Village officials announce work has begun on phase II of its 1920s Main Street project, adding the movie house and that soda fountain…are they going to get a couple of soda jerks, too? The funding comes from the Ohio State Capital Appropriations and others. Check it out…the project also includes moving the District 16 School and Dr. McGuffin’s Office to their appropriate place along the timeline as well. Store fronts and other buildings will get that old timey touch too. A 1920s gas station and auto dealership is even getting built. Who breaks out the corduroy knickers first? No timeline has been set for a finish date.
