One man is hurt after a semi-truck crash in Waterloo. Police were called to the intersection of U.S. 6 and C.R. 27. Officials tell reporters a van was going south on 27 when it reached the stop sign. The driver, Jack Kimmel, of Ashley, then failed to yield to the oncoming semi and the two crashed. The semi was traveling west on U.S. 6 when the driver, Gerald Jarnecke was unable to stop in time before hitting Kimmel in the driver’s side rear panel. The van was totaled. Kimmel complained of neck pain and was taken to the hospital.
