Drug Arrest In Montpelier

An area woman heads to jail. Melissa Baughman was brought in back in June after Montpelier police stopped her vehicle, following a tip of a possible drug deal. In August, a Williams County grand jury indicted her for possession and trafficking of drugs. Authorities say she was in possession of 38.7 grams of methamphetamine that was prepared for distribution, as well as a .22-caliber revolver. Baughman was previously convicted in Michigan for assaulting a police officer. She gets three years’ sentencing, plus three years’ probation.
