Tax Break For JM

An area employer gets a tax abatement. Officials say Defiance County commissioners gave their consent to it to cover Johns Manville’s $50 million plant expansion. They approved a resolution authorizing a 90 percent abatement of new property taxes over 12 years on JM’s investment at its Carpenter Road plant. The company is expect to create 24 local jobs with its expansion program at the plant.
