A new rate for the internet. Now that some upgrades to online service here locally have been finished, Bryan Municipal Utilities is raising the monthly rate for it high-speed connection by $1. Officials say over the past year, BMU has worked to improve its internet service offerings through hardware improvements and new equipment. The $31 a month package includes internet speeds of up-to-10 megabits per second…that’s up from 8. The change in price takes effect on or after March 20. Customers will be notified. Officials add the higher-speed service has been tested and is performing well. It will soon be advertised on BMU’s social media.
