Authorities believe speed and alcohol are factors in a crash that left one man in serious condition following an accident near Waterloo. Officials tell reporters an SUV, driven by 43-year-old Shane Marshall of Auburn, was traveling south on County Road 427…that’s when his vehicle went off the road while going around a curve…hitting a roadside ditch and rolling. The SUV crashed into a fence, upside down. Marshall was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut out of his seat-belt. He was taken to the hospital with injuries to his neck and head. The crash remains under investigation.
