After several years of planning, the Williams County Regional Airport starts a $2.7 million taxiway extension project. Airport officials say will improve safety at the facility. The airport will add a 1,850-foot-long by 35-foot-wide taxiway, parallel to the west end of the runway, near County Road 16. A second section is a 148-foot-long by 45-foot-wide taxiway, connecting the runway and taxiway with the hangars, terminals and other airport facilities. Officials say it should all be completed by next spring.
