Bryan Municipal Utilities promotes a longtime employee who has risen through the ranks to lead the utility. It’s Nathan Gardner…and he was selected to the position of Director of Utilities during the board’s regular meeting. Gardner was hired by BMU in 2003 as an engineering assistant. Over the years he moved on to become water supervisor, then engineering supervisor. BMU had been without a working director of utilities since November, when Kevin Maynard was put on paid administrative leave…amid an internal investigation regarding possible workplace misconduct. Maynard then resigned in December.
