Tractor Fire Squelched

Officials tell reporters a mechanical malfunction led to a fire that destroyed a tractor in a field along County Road E, between County roads 17 and 18. The tractor was fully involved in flames when crews got to the scene. A tanker truck and more resources are then called in to put the flames out. Apparently, the tractor driver just finished a row and was ready to turn when he heard a pop and saw fluid spraying out the left side exhaust, which caught fire almost immediately. The driver is okay. The tractor was a total loss…but no crops were damaged.
