Weikel In Custody

The man hospitalized after a shootout with Fort Wayne police last week is released from medical care and transferred to Allen County Jail. Justin Weikel is currently detained on an outstanding Noble County arrest warrant, charges which are unrelated to the police action shooting incident. On Wednesday night, he was involved in a police pursuit that led to gunfire with police. The chase across Allen, DeKalb, and Noble counties ended when Weikel stopped on Waits Road east of Main Street at the Johnson mobile home park on the south side of Kendallville…after a standoff…he was brought in…he got hurt in the exchange with officers.
