MONTPELIER WOMAN RELEASED

A for­mer Mont­pe­lier vil­lage clerk who was con­victed in 2012 of steal­ing for than $90,000 from the vil­lage, is now a free woman.

Anna Marie Stark of Mont­pe­lier, was sen­tenced in Sep­tem­ber 2012 to 30 months in prison after an audit revealed that Stark made 71 fraud­u­lent billing adjust­ments, val­ued at $84,049; stole 20 cus­tomer pay­ments for fees and deposits, val­ued at $4,095; and diverted final refunds of deposits for 12 cus­tomer accounts to her own use, val­ued at $2,021.

The total added up to more than $90,000.

As a con­di­tion of her release, Stark will spend four years on com­mu­nity control.
