Rains last week made harvesting difficult, but farmers across the state and the county are starting to get back out into the fields to make up for lost time. Agriculture officials say topsoil and subsoil moisture levels increased last week…with above average rains in nearly all areas of the state…resulting in three days suitable for fieldwork. In Williams County, things were stalled somewhat last week with five inches of rain. Harvest in the county started in a few fields the weekend prior…but not quite 10% has been harvested. Most of this is concentrated in the southeast portion of the county, close to Stryker. They add…Northwest Ohio people are seeing average to above average yields, for both soybeans and corn.
